Terms of use

These terms apply to the christmaslight.app website and the Australia Christmas Lights app. The Useful Apps Pty Ltd ("we") runs both. When you use them, you agree to these terms.

No tolerance for objectionable content

We do not accept objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post comments or photos that:

• are offensive, abusive, threatening, hateful or sexual;
• show people, children, number plates or other private details without permission;
• are spam, advertising or not about Christmas light displays;
• break the law or another person's rights.

Every comment and photo has a Report button. Three reports hide the content at once. We check every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these terms, and we close the accounts of people who post it.

Adding a display

• Add only displays that people can look at from a public place.
• If you add your own home, you agree that we show its address, dates, times and photos.
• Do not add a private person's name. If you see your name or home and you want it removed, email us.

Visiting displays

Displays are private homes. Respect the residents and their neighbours. Park safely, keep the noise down, and follow road rules. Dates and times come from the community and can be wrong. We do not guarantee that a display is on.

Your account

Keep your password safe. You can delete your account at any time by email to us. We can suspend accounts that break these terms.

Content you post

You keep the rights to your photos and comments. You give us permission to show them on the website and in the app, and to resize them.

Liability

We give the service free of charge and "as is". To the extent that the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
